First of Many

While March 15th was my "official" start date, today I held my first team meeting in my new role,
Supervisor - Wireless Field Support.
I originally applied more or less so that someone who didn't know a thing about what I do would come in and tell me how to do it...not a super good reason I admit, though probably not surprising to most.
I figured if the person in this role couldn't walk the walk, they shouldn't talk.
Anyway, I held my first meeting and it was cool because I saw a glimmer of hope that we might be able to change things for the better and I was very encouraged. While everyone is cautiously optimistic and I have my work cut out for me, I think they are receptive and today was a good start.
Please pray that I do the right things to unite and inspire, and their hearts and minds are receptive.
And mom, I fully plan to integrate some of the "goofball" gene that I seem to have inherited.
After all, it's fun to laugh!

Waiting is Over

I was offered, and have accepted the new position...still the same company, just supervising our department and my peers.
Guess they can't tell me "I'm not the boss" of them anymore. Ha ha.

He's back!

You probably didn't know he was gone, but we sure did!
8 days...Japan to Manilla, to Japan, to Singapore, to Japan and then home!
Let's just say he is still trying to recover, and while we managed pretty well, we sure did miss Jon!

Science Fair

Today was the annual open house/science fair/spaghetti dinner at school.
Madison's science project was about testing to discover variations in PH levels.
Here she is showing a peer how to test ph levels using litmus paper!

Check out the blue ribbon winner!

Excellent Job Madison!

Hard to read unless you double click, but this is what Madison has to say about why she loves life.
I found this posted in the hallway and thought it was pretty special.
