6 Random Things

6 Random Things
I was tagged by Carrie, who is my favorite sister in the whole world. I am supposed to come up with 6 random things that people might not know about me. Hmmmmm...lets see what I can come up with.

The rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

1. I have a sister who is seven years younger and a brother who is thirteen years younger, and there isn't a day that goes by that I wish I had done better by both of them. I see Madison and Emerson (5 years apart) getting along really well, but wonder a lot what the difference was with 7 years and why I was so crusty to her? As for my brother, I love him lots, but there was an age gap that kind of ripped us both off, and I know I have been crusty to him too. I wish I had done better by both of them.

2. It never occurred to me that I was overweight growing up until someone told me I was and it never left me. I haven't been content with my physical appearance since. I was wearing a size 8 dress at our homecoming dance in HS...what the heck! I wish I could go back and push back harder sometimes. Clearly now it's a valid statement, but I wonder if it would be if the words hadn't been uttered back then?

3. God gave his Son to rescue me. The moment I realized someone could love me THAT much, I got on my knees. When I thought of how my heart would break if I had to sacrifice someone I loved so much for the salvation of someone else, I "got it"...God did that. He did that for me, of all people! And yes, He most definitely did it for you too. Look at your children and imagine the sacrifice God made...I have.
I am thankful, and amazed, and in awe...every day.

4. I am a re-writer. I can be 3/4 of the way through a written letter and if I make a mistake, I don't cross it off or white it out, I have to start over. This extends into other areas, shopping lists, "one on one" meeting notes at work, thank you notes, everything. Also, I LOVE pretty stationary and pens, and all things related to writing tools. Someday I hope to have one of those embossing stamp/press things with my initials and address and regularly visit sites to start a pretend order. If I had small cheerful room with a white desk, tons of fun pens, and a wall full of shelves filled with pretty paper and envelopes I would probably never leave. Oh, and maybe a computer too so I can search for pretty paper.

5. I wish I could sing in front of people, well besides Jon and girls anyway. I did it once in an audition for a high school musical a very long time ago, but I haven't a clue how. I don't necessarily mean to perform in front of thousands (which I will admit would be nice), but even places like church. I am unable to find my tone in the middle...the ladies sing so high and the men so low, and I am in between but can't find it when everyone is singing around me. This bums me out because church is the place where I would most love to sing and be heard.

6. If I could have 10 cats just like Katie and Buddy, well mostly Katie, I would.

I don't have 6 blog friends, well I do, but I don't want a restraining order against me, so I will have to just link back to the one that won't...my sister, Carrie. Wish I could remember how to link.

1) Don't look back. You are a great sibling...ask!
2) I remember the sz8 blue gown your Aunt made. You are as beautiful today as then! Let me guess, it was a man you valued who made the wt. comment...and he doesn't own a mirror. Forgive ignorance.
3)That's the way I 'got' God as well. Which child would I sacrifice? None! Amazing Grace.
4) Pretty paper and re-writing..excellence..you!
5)"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!"....call Helen for lessons. She's the best.
6) Tender-hearted you loving a toothless cat! How sweet are you? Love you!

I think we should find you that white desk you seem to dream about. I can picture you at a white desk. Thanks for playing!!
